George’s Farm Centre Ltd. has been locally run, and family owned since 1967. Our aim is to serve our customers with our expertise for any parts, sales or service requests.
George’s Farm Centre was started by George Groeneveld in 1960 in Penhold Alberta in a small shop located just south of where our current location is today. He started off selling Allis Chalmers tractors and doing general repairs with his brother Floyd. In 1967 he bought out an existing Allis Chalmers dealership in Olds Alberta and moved the operation to Olds. He continued to sell Allis Chalmers equipment from there and added Hesston Haying Equipment and Gleaner combines to the line up. In 1990 Agco was formed to buy out Deutz Allis which saw more changes to George’s Farm Centre Ltd. Since 1998, George’s Farm Centre has been operating back in Penhold until today.
In 2013, George retired and sold the business to Dan Groeneveld and Roy and Elizabeth McArthur (son in law and daughter) to keep it a family run business, while expanding lines from Flexi-Coil and Macdon to Pillar Lasers and Free Form products. Not only has Dan and Roy been with George’s Farm Centre Ltd. for over 30 years, but other staff members have been loyal to the company also. Employees are passionate about what they do and are extremely knowledgeable as having been through the ever changing seasons of the agriculture industry.
George’s Farm Centre Ltd plans to continue to serve customers in Central Alberta and beyond to provide parts, sales and service in any way they can.
